Official Records Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post a bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record directly for those services.

Lavaca County Jail Records

The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office is the first contact for county-jail custody and booking records. The Sheriff’s fee chart accepts written public-information requests in person, by mail, or by email. The Sheriff’s page does not publish separate Records Unit walk-in hours, so confirm current routing before visiting.

For a booking photograph or intake record, identify the person, approximate booking date, arresting agency if known, and the exact existing record sought. The county lookup and records path explains the jail portal, request language, fee chart, and court-disposition distinction.

Choose the Correct Office

Different offices answer different questions. Sending a request to the custodian avoids treating a court docket as a live jail status or a jail roster as a case outcome.

  • For a current county-custody search or status notification, use the Sheriff’s official jail application or its linked VINELink service.
  • For a booking record, photo request, or law-enforcement arrest record, start with LCSO or the agency that created the record.
  • For a court case or disposition, contact the appropriate County Clerk, District Clerk, justice court, or municipal court.
  • For a state-prison record, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate search or public-information route.
  • For a federal sentenced-custody question, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration detention, use ICE’s official locator.
  • For an official warrant question, contact LCSO or the relevant court. The Most Wanted Fugitives page explains the local Crime Stoppers and court routes.
